Wilian de Almeida might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pero Artiz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernando Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martxot Guilarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iraunkor Olazabala in the 26th minute of play forced Morro Grande E.C's goalkeeper Fernando Veloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Augusto Martins during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 39th minute Lugo Quiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Veloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lugo Quiroz scored 1-6 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernando Veloso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-6.

If Pedro Paulo Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
