In the 4th minute Ciro Txatxu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zézinho Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zézinho Paraense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Txatxu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 9 minutes into the game, Justo Solustiano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independiente's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vae Victis!! the free kick. Justo Solustiano hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. If Justo Solustiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Ciro Txatxu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ciro Txatxu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amauri Hermes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Denis Niva made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amauri Hermes got free with Denis Niva in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Justo Solustiano got his second yellow card in the match during the 22nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Justo Solustiano kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, Independiente's goalkeeper Denis Niva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Amauri Hermes. Zézinho Paraense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Uhin in the 32nd minute of play. Sebastião de Senna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Rafa Borges's late challenge caught a Independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafa Borges helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Vae Victis!!'s Rafa Borges got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After having played for 44 minutes, German Uhin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but German Uhin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Denis Niva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jano Zanette in the 47th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amauri Hermes to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, German Uhin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zézinho Paraense. Vae Victis!!'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that German Uhin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After 58 played minutes Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Ciro Txatxu. The supporters of Vae Victis!! booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaspar Cibran didn't get a good kick on the ball. With 63 minutes on the clock, Gaspar Cibran commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 63rd minute, one of Independiente:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Independiente. Independiente:s Denis Niva showed great skill when he stopped Sebastião de Senna:s penalty. 69 minutes into the match, Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Jano Zanette came free, but Denis Niva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 71st minute by Freddy Romelio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 72 minutes, Ciro Txatxu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ciro Txatxu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Ciro Txatxu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ciro Txatxu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zézinho Paraense having to interfere. With a little luck, Vae Victis!!'s Zézinho Paraense got control of the ball when Freddy Romelio tried to sneak it across the goal line. 85 minutes in the game, Emiliano Martinez fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Zézinho Paraense having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Ciro Txatxu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zézinho Paraense.
