Montevideo City Torque's Zenaido Urtiaran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Braga in the 7th minute of play. If Maicon Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match clock showed 10 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Nico de Mendonça sped through Montevideo City Torque's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zenaido Urtiaran. Zenaido Urtiaran showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vágner Gaspar in the 13th minute of the match. Zenaido Urtiaran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nico de Mendonça, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Naldo Baiano ran back to his position shaking his head.
