After some careless play in the Flying Dutch defense, Ongile Arainz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arthur Albuquerque. The Flying Dutch fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arthur Albuquerque should have stopped the shot. Basilio Munet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Claudinho Quadros's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Yan Urbano struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Basilio Munet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flying Dutch. In the 19th minute, Mazinho da Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 minutes, Roberto Herbon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Municipal and the Flying Dutch players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Atlético Municipal's Roberto Herbon got a free kick in the 21st minute. Basilio Munet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yan Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Flying Dutch's Laerte Pereira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Basilio Munet narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 27 minutes into the game, Luiz Gustavo Viana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Flying Dutch's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atlético Municipal the free kick. In the 28th minute of the match Totakoxe Cadenas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arthur Albuquerque showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Basilio Munet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mazinho da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mazinho da Rocha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basilio Munet having to interfere. In the 40th match minute, Atlético Municipal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Montanez to maneuver through the defense. If Mazinho da Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.

The wind increased when Claudinho Quadros made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Mário Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Claudinho Quadros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flying Dutch's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudinho Quadros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basilio Munet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Laerte Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute, Márcio Furlan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute of the match Totakoxe Cadenas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arthur Albuquerque skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Atlético Municipal's Bastiaro Fresco got a free kick in the 69th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Ongile Arainz notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Flying Dutch's Arthur Albuquerque. Arthur Albuquerque was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With an all-out effort, Flying Dutch's Basilio Munet threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Claudinho Quadros, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Claudinho Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 78 minutes, Yan Urbano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flying Dutch's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yan Urbano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Municipal's zone, Thomás Custódio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basilio Munet came out of the goal and Thomás Custódio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute, Andy Montanez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mazinho da Rocha received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Basilio Munet came out and tried to block the shot, but Mazinho da Rocha slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 86th minute. 89 minutes into the match, Atlético Municipal's goalkeeper Basilio Munet had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laerte Pereira. Arthur Albuquerque took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ongile Arainz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Basilio Munet didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 95th minute, which inside left pole to 2-2.
