When Caton Alfaro fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Riemannian's protests and gave Caton Alfaro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Memphis Grizzlies booed when Riemannian was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caton Alfaro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Riemannian's Horacio Azofra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franky Van Der Elst in the 16th minute of play. Horacio Azofra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Luis Cuciuffo in the 17th minute of play. The Memphis Grizzlies fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Memphis Grizzlies's José Luis Cuciuffo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Luis Cuciuffo in the 21st minute of play forced Riemannian's goalkeeper Horacio Azofra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the game, José Luis Cuciuffo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Horacio Azofra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Luis Cuciuffo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. A collision led to Riemannian getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Iamín Cabanela hit a great ball. In the 33rd minute José Luis Cuciuffo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horacio Azofra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Memphis Grizzlies's Michael Kellaway got a free kick in the 35th minute. The long shot by Ovidio Macho in the 37th minute really tested Gez Winship's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Riemannian's Horacio Azofra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Luis Cuciuffo in the 39th minute of play. Riemannian:s Horacio Azofra showed great skill when he stopped Karl-Heinz Rummenigge:s penalty. 46 minutes into the match, Memphis Grizzlies's José Luis Cuciuffo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horacio Azofra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The corner ended in Christopher Blythe almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Riemannian's Horacio Azofra did a great save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Saturnin Pabon made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Memphis Grizzlies's zone, Segundo Sauca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gez Winship came out of the goal and Segundo Sauca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. José Luis Cuciuffo kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Luis Cuciuffo in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horacio Azofra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Riemannian's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when José Luis Cuciuffo scored to the left of an out of position Horacio Azofra, making the score, 0-4. 66 minutes into the match, José Luis Cuciuffo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horacio Azofra. Riemannian's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Luis Cuciuffo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Memphis Grizzlies's Brian Patterson was substituted for Harry Johnson. Memphis Grizzlies made a substitution. Franz Henry replaced José Luis Cuciuffo. Memphis Grizzlies's Peter Wiltshire got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Memphis Grizzlies fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when Memphis Grizzlies's Peter Wiltshire looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. A hard shot 82 in the game by Franz Henry from a close distance when the talented Horacio Azofra managed to make a qualified save. Riemannian's players were relieved. Franz Henry struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Horacio Azofra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Memphis Grizzlies. Horacio Azofra was a little too slow when Peter Wiltshire got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 0-7. Peter Wiltshire took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Horacio Azofra. Horacio Azofra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-8. The supporters of Riemannian booed when Memphis Grizzlies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christopher Blythe didn't get a good kick on the ball.
