But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frederico Gomes couldn't finish the play. Carter Prato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Veloso in the 7th minute of play. Carter Prato didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dorival Veloso went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 13th play minutes Elder Luz shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Carter Prato and just under the crossbar into goal. Carter Prato didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frederico Gomes went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Carter Prato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frederico Gomes in the 22nd minute of the match. Carter Prato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorival Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The S.E. Cachoeirinha fans' excitement grew in the 30th match minute when S.E. Cachoeirinha's Frederico Gomes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 35 minutes into the match, Real Murçia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Elder Luz came free, but Carter Prato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dorival Veloso might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carter Prato. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dorival Veloso ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 39th minute Frederico Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carter Prato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Real Murçia FC's Cristiano Laudadio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Betão de Amaral. That made the score 1-4 after 43 minutes of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dorival Veloso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Real Murçia FC booed when S.E. Cachoeirinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th play minute Frederico Gomes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Carter Prato. 1-5. S.E. Cachoeirinha's Elder Luz was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 69th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Comunardo Romagnoli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Betão de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 75 in the game by Frederico Gomes from a close distance when the talented Carter Prato managed to make a qualified save. Real Murçia FC's players were relieved. A collision led to Real Murçia FC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Fulvio Tabacco hit a great ball. Carter Prato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival Veloso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Perivaldo de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frederico Gomes got free with Carter Prato in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle sounded S.E. Cachoeirinha left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Real Murçia FC.
