Betão de Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geraldo Gomes in the 6th minute of play. Betão de Amaral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Giuseppe Godoi's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Sílvio Luís Sampaio dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Oséias Vides, 1-0. 25 minutes into the game, Jerônimo de Queirós was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zebus FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.E. Cachoeirinha the free kick. In the 25th minute, Jerônimo de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Sílvio Luís Sampaio managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E. Cachoeirinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio Luís Sampaio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oséias Vides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederico Gomes in the 42nd minute of play forced Zebus FC's goalkeeper Oséias Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sílvio Luís Sampaio made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Frederico Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.E. Cachoeirinha's supporters rose to their feet, but Frederico Gomes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oséias Vides breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 54 played minutes Zebus FC got a freekick which was hit by Jerônimo de Queirós. After a defensive mix-up in Zebus FC's zone, Frederico Gomes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oséias Vides came out of the goal and Frederico Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oséias Vides showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 61st match minute, Zebus FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovani Veloso to maneuver through the defense. Zebus FC's Oséias Vides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frederico Gomes in the 62nd minute of play. The supporters of Zebus FC booed when S.E. Cachoeirinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elder Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luan Teles took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Betão de Amaral. S.E. Cachoeirinha's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. During the 74th minute of the match Jerônimo de Queirós completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jerônimo de Queirós a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 74th minute, Jerônimo de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oséias Vides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís Sampaio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. S.E. Cachoeirinha were victorious despite being under pressure from Zebus FC for much of the match.
