Muhammad Ali blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Winford Taylor having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Muhammad Ali in the 5th minute of play forced New England Minas's goalkeeper Winford Taylor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, Teodosio Eztebe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. New England Minas's Winford Taylor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Muhammad Ali in the 17th minute of play. Muhammad Ali could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Winford Taylor made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Muhammad Ali put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Winford Taylor. With a little luck, New England Minas's Winford Taylor got control of the ball when Joaquin Mingo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 40th minute, Muhammad Ali got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of New England Minas booed when Sportivo Luan Toro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Mino didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Kaba Sø managed to get in a good position for a shot. New England Minas's supporters rose to their feet, but Kaba Sø was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Arias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Tod Mosley struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Gabriel Arias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New England Minas. Muhammad Ali's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Winford Taylor read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by New England Minas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Omar Catalán was slow to take the kick. During this time Sportivo Luan Toro's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Oscar Mino managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After some careless play in the New England Minas defense, Joaquin Mingo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Winford Taylor. The New England Minas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Winford Taylor should have stopped the shot. Sportivo Luan Toro made a substitution. Cecilio Montrel replaced Ignacio Jerrald. 72 minutes into the match, Sportivo Luan Toro's goalkeeper Gabriel Arias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tobias Herrington. In the 74th minute, Muhammad Ali made a precise shot to the right of Winford Taylor. New England Minas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. In the 84th match minute, New England Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Hayes to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Muhammad Ali managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sportivo Luan Toro's supporters rose to their feet, but Muhammad Ali was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Winford Taylor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 87thth minute of the game Muhammad Ali who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New England Minas's Winford Taylor was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Winford Taylor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquin Mingo in the 92nd minute of play. Sportivo Luan Toro were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of New England Minas for a fine match.
