The referee ignored ΟΦΗ's protests and gave Ilias Lazanas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd match minute, ΟΦΗ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ilias Lazanas to maneuver through the defense. Adriano Sabatini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fokas Nousias in the 15th minute of the match. Ntinos Vlasakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fulvio Eleuteri in the 20th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in San Felice a Ema U.L.'s zone, Fokas Nousias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adriano Sabatini came out of the goal and Fokas Nousias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ntinos Vlasakis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Toccaceli in the 27th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fulvio Eleuteri in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ntinos Vlasakis saved ΟΦΗ from getting behind. Fulvio Eleuteri took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ntinos Vlasakis. Ntinos Vlasakis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 39th minute, ΟΦΗ's Nikos Kalkavouras dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. After some careless play in the San Felice a Ema U.L. defense, Fanis Kokkinopoulos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Adriano Sabatini. The San Felice a Ema U.L. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Adriano Sabatini should have stopped the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Giannis Tzanetos to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 73rd minute, Fulvio Eleuteri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
