He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in San Lorenzo de Sarandi reached it. Amancio Odilon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Eliseu Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Eliseo Bingen came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the San Lorenzo de Sarandi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eliseo Bingen couldn't finish the play. If Luiz Paulo Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37thth minute of the game Amancio Odilon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Inter de São Paulo's Eliseu Melo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 39 minutes into the game, San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Eliseo Bingen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eliseu Melo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Eliseu Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Bingen, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amancio Odilon during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half San Lorenzo de Sarandi were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 92nd minute, Jairo Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 93rd minute Léo Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Passet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo de Sarandi's Natalio Calvino got a free kick in the 94th minute. Although Inter de São Paulo had been in control for most of the match, San Lorenzo de Sarandi still came away with the win.
