In the 7th minute, Keith DeGaetano sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and ToCoTaN FC's Mariano Rio didn't even have to move. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oliver Friggieri during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jeronimo Ihazintu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Nick Grech tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eduardo Ikatz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Rio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oliver Friggieri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. ToCoTaN FC's Mariano Rio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Friggieri in the 22nd minute of play. Mariano Rio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luke Abdilla showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 28 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eustacio Nevada in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nick Grech saved Templars FC from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lawrence Gonzi got free with Mariano Rio in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nick Grech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeronimo Ihazintu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute of the match Keith DeGaetano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mariano Rio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lawrence Gonzi made a kick off. Eustacio Nevada scored 1-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nick Grech, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 57th minute, Oliver Friggieri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mariano Rio was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After a rather tough play, ToCoTaN FC's Silvio Munio got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute Luke Abdilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Rio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eustacio Nevada's late challenge caught a Templars FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eustacio Nevada helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Templars FC booed when ToCoTaN FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Nevada didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to ToCoTaN FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Eustacio Nevada hit a great ball. After 73 played minutes Templars FC got a freekick which was hit by Lawrence Gonzi. When Mateo Inge fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ToCoTaN FC's protests and gave Mateo Inge a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Templars FC booed when ToCoTaN FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Inge didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, ToCoTaN FC's Mateo Inge got a free kick in the 77th minute. A collision led to Templars FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Mark Cuschieri hit a great ball. Jeronimo Ihazintu kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, ToCoTaN FC's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Friggieri came free, but Mariano Rio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guido Confesor hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 86th minute, Luke Abdilla made a precise shot to the right of Mariano Rio. ToCoTaN FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Nick Grech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eustacio Nevada, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. ToCoTaN FC's Mariano Rio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Cuschieri in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Templars FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while ToCoTaN FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
