In the 13th minute Eric Malone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Orzaize saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cedric Coulter in the 15th minute of play forced Vampiros Aztecas's goalkeeper Jeremias Orzaize to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Ruben Garin kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ivan Lucero. That made the score 1-0 in the 18 minute of play. Ruben Garin hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, Cedric Coulter made a precise shot to the right of Jeremias Orzaize. Vampiros Aztecas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Jeremias Orzaize showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cedric Coulter, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. 36 minutes into the game, Goliath Mediano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Jeremias Orzaize was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 40th minute of the match Jonas Rik shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivan Lucero showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 47 played minutes Vampiros Aztecas got a freekick which was hit by Ruben Garin. After the first half Deportivo Rodriguez were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After recieving a nice pass, Deportivo Rodriguez's Roosevelt Sullivan tried to score from far away in the 48th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Vampiros Aztecas's Ruben Garin got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Goliath Mediano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremias Orzaize having to interfere. Sherman Holliday kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 71 minutes into the game, Fabricio Gervaso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vampiros Aztecas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Rodriguez the free kick. Fabricio Gervaso hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute of the match, Goliath Gigante got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jeremias Orzaize was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Melchor Hori in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivan Lucero saved Deportivo Rodriguez from getting behind. Jeremias Orzaize made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Goliath Mediano sent off a good shot on target. Vampiros Aztecas's Jeremias Orzaize played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cedric Coulter in the 90th minute of play. Ildefonso Ponce charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ildefonso Ponce the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd minute, Ildefonso Ponce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Deportivo Rodriguez's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
