Alexis Dellios ran back to his position shaking his head. Fanis Schinas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Weltevedren booed when Olympiacos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Avraam Chalkias didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Olympiacos FC's Takis Nestoriou got control of the ball when Arturo Morelli tried to sneak it across the goal line. Weltevedren's Biagio Scatena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panos Papathomas in the 20th minute of play. Biagio Scatena came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Olympiacos FC's Dimitris Koudas. But to his dismay, Dimitris Koudas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimitris Koudas in the 27th minute of play forced Weltevedren's goalkeeper Biagio Scatena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 27 played minutes Weltevedren got a freekick which was hit by Diego Ragusa. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dimitris Koudas in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Biagio Scatena prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Avraam Chalkias struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Biagio Scatena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olympiacos FC. 32 minutes into the match, Dimitris Koudas notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Weltevedren's Biagio Scatena. Biagio Scatena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Dimitris Koudas put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Biagio Scatena. An unexpectedly hard shot by Avraam Chalkias in the 47th minute of play forced Weltevedren's goalkeeper Biagio Scatena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dimitris Koudas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dimitris Koudas got free with Biagio Scatena in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 64 minutes into the game, Edmondo Macchione was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Weltevedren's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olympiacos FC the free kick. Olympiacos FC made a substitution. Miltiadis Tsiranidis replaced Grigoris Plexioudas. Olympiacos FC's Kostas Tziolas was substituted for Alexis Dellios. Edmondo Macchione hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Weltevedren's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olympiacos FC the free kick. The supporters of Olympiacos FC booed when Weltevedren was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dennis Di Florio didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 79 in the game by Dimitris Koudas from a close distance when the talented Biagio Scatena managed to make a qualified save. Weltevedren's players were relieved. Dimitris Koudas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Biagio Scatena made a huge save. Biagio Scatena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitris Koudas, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Augusto Cesare hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Olympiacos FC's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 88th minute of the game, when Panos Loukas after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Weltevedren's goal. Panos Loukas was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. Avraam Chalkias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Olympiacos FC played a much better game than Weltevedren and deserved their victory. The Weltevedren players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
