Manoel Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th minute, Carlos Fernando Paulista made a precise shot to the right of Tostão Paulista. ARS FUTEBOL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. ARS FUTEBOL's Tostão Paulista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabinho Neiva in the 12th minute of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 23 minutes into the game, when Oscar Magalhães put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 22nd minute of the game. One of A.D. Imperial:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ARS FUTEBOL:s goal. Carlos Fernando Paulista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tostão Paulista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carlos Fernando Paulista went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. William Damião hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. ARS FUTEBOL's Tostão Paulista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save ARS FUTEBOL from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, William Damião took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Tostão Paulista to make any attempt to save it. Waldemar Nunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráusio Guimarães in the 42nd minute of play. Tostão Paulista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Paulista, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
