When Efrain Alonso fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ATE AFC's protests and gave Efrain Alonso a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th match minute, ATE AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Alonso to maneuver through the defense. Victoriano Onofre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Gogo Tajo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Higinio Garikoitz, 1-0. Higinio Garikoitz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 15th minute, which inside left pole to 2-0. 20 minutes into the match, The Hanging Tree's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolas Zapata came free, but Eleuterio Quexal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Victoriano Onofre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Higinio Garikoitz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gogo Tajo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute of the match Silverio Gumaro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Higinio Garikoitz skillfully saved the ball. Victoriano Onofre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute, Teo Herrera hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Higinio Garikoitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabio Abaunza in the 39th minute of play. ATE AFC's Higinio Garikoitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victoriano Onofre in the 47th minute of play. In the 47th match minute, ATE AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolas Zapata to maneuver through the defense. In the 48th minute, Victoriano Onofre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustavo Librić to make the kick off. During the 64th minute of the match Edy Cabanis completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Edy Cabanis a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, ATE AFC's Edy Cabanis got a free kick in the 65th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Ilixo in the 72nd minute of play forced The Hanging Tree's goalkeeper Eleuterio Quexal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabio Abaunza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Higinio Garikoitz having to interfere. Higinio Garikoitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Abaunza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Higinio Garikoitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delmar Markel, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 83 minutes into the match, Gogo Tajo notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of ATE AFC's Higinio Garikoitz. Higinio Garikoitz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, The Hanging Tree's Placido Furtado got a free kick in the 87th minute. Conrado Ilixo struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Eleuterio Quexal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ATE AFC.
