The supporters of Colombo A.C. booed when POPODARA F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Engeland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Asbjørn Berger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Paranaense in the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute, Paulo Paranaense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Paranaense in the 33rd minute of play forced POPODARA F.C's goalkeeper Asbjørn Berger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jon-Erik Salbu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Luan da Silveira made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Paranaense in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Asbjørn Berger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42ndth minute of the game Paulo Paranaense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but POPODARA F.C's Asbjørn Berger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Renatinho Toledo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Asbjørn Berger. POPODARA F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rune Gjersøe charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rune Gjersøe the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to POPODARA F.C getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Rune Gjersøe hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Paranaense to make the kick off. POPODARA F.C's Asbjørn Berger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save POPODARA F.C from getting a goal against them. 62 minutes into the game, Paulo Paranaense cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Asbjørn Berger was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Paulo Paranaense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Asbjørn Berger was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Asbjørn Berger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulo Paranaense in the 91st minute. The Colombo A.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match.
