Mané Garrincha scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ulises Bastian, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 7th minute, Mané Garrincha made a precise shot to the right of Ulises Bastian. AZURDUY F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After a rather tough play, Villaverde Celeste Clube's Frank Sten got a free kick in the 11th minute. Ulises Bastian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mané Garrincha in the 17th minute of play. Mané Garrincha took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ulises Bastian. Ulises Bastian dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After 26 minutes, Cido Guerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Villaverde Celeste Clube and the AZURDUY F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cido Guerra kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 29th match minute, AZURDUY F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejo Weterio to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, Giuliano David hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 38 played minutes AZURDUY F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Luis Cloyo. 41 minutes into the match, AZURDUY F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sten came free, but Ulises Bastian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ulises Bastian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Giuliano David in the 42nd minute of the match. After 46 played minutes AZURDUY F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Domenec. In the 47th minute, Mané Garrincha made a precise shot to the right of Ulises Bastian. AZURDUY F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Giuliano David got free with Ulises Bastian in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ulises Bastian showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cido Guerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Ulises Bastian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mané Garrincha in the 60th minute of the match. When Cido Guerra came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Villaverde Celeste Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cido Guerra couldn't finish the play. Mané Garrincha hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Ulises Bastian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sten in the 67th minute of play. If Frank Sten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Netto in the 71st minute of play forced AZURDUY F.C.'s goalkeeper Ulises Bastian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, AZURDUY F.C.'s Ulises Bastian got control of the ball when Mané Garrincha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mané Garrincha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulises Bastian read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Alejo Weterio sped through Villaverde Celeste Clube's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alfredo Linares. Frank Sten received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ulises Bastian came out and tried to block the shot, but Frank Sten slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 88th minute. If Frank Sten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in AZURDUY F.C.'s zone, Frank Sten stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulises Bastian came out of the goal and Frank Sten tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saverio Louis hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the match was over Villaverde Celeste Clube could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AZURDUY F.C. throughout the match.
