The audience thought a goal was coming when Baltasar Fero got free with Per-Olof Bengtsson in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. VfL Wolfsburg's Per-Olof Bengtsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save VfL Wolfsburg from getting a goal against them. If Ezequiel Balasi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. VfL Wolfsburg's Per-Olof Bengtsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lorenzo Distiratsu in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Baltasar Fero made a precise shot to the right of Per-Olof Bengtsson. VfL Wolfsburg's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 32 minutes into the game, C. S. D. Pueyrredón's Prospero Cheche nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Per-Olof Bengtsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 35th minute, Prospero Cheche reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Per-Olof Bengtsson. The goal made the score 3-0. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Baltasar Fero sped through VfL Wolfsburg's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Per-Olof Bengtsson. Sven-Erik Dalman's late challenge caught a C. S. D. Pueyrredón's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sven-Erik Dalman helped the player get up and apologised. Laureano Quintana took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Per-Olof Bengtsson. VfL Wolfsburg's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some careless play in the VfL Wolfsburg defense, Ezequiel Balasi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Per-Olof Bengtsson. The VfL Wolfsburg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Per-Olof Bengtsson should have stopped the shot. C. S. D. Pueyrredón walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
