Ruben Tauro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esteve Hurko in the 38th minute of play. After 40 played minutes DEPORTIVO SJ got a freekick which was hit by Carmelo Flores. After a rather tough play, DEPORTIVO SJ's Lino Bonadona got a free kick in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Chorche in the 47th minute of play forced ViCeNzA's goalkeeper Bartolo Bazkoare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After recieving a nice pass, ViCeNzA's Emiliano Quinito tried to score from far away in the 64th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
