In the 8th minute, Bartolo Benino reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of George Neuer. The goal made the score 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Three Lions FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Donio came free, but George Neuer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Giuseppe Sena fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Three Lions FC's protests and gave Giuseppe Sena a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Giuseppe Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Álvaro Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Mateo Orlo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cafu de Moraes struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Mateo Orlo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Three Lions FC. If Álvaro Proença had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duendes Verdes's Mateo Orlo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Modrić in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bartolo Benino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. George Neuer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aaron Macario in the 51st minute of the match. Lázaro Gabrio kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Three Lions FC's George Modrić got a free kick in the 57th minute. Aaron Macario's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but George Neuer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. George Neuer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Donio in the 60th minute of the match. In the 63rd minute, Kléber Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. George Neuer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aaron Macario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mateo Orlo made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Cafu de Moraes sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron Macario in the 79th minute of play forced Three Lions FC's goalkeeper George Neuer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Three Lions FC's George Neuer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Donio in the 81st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Modrić in the 87th minute of play forced Duendes Verdes's goalkeeper Mateo Orlo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Duendes Verdes's goalkeeper Mateo Orlo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When David Jaizki fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Duendes Verdes's protests and gave David Jaizki a yellow card for diving instead. Three Lions FC made a substitution. Fabiano Silveira replaced João Hermes. After a rather tough play, Duendes Verdes's David Jaizki got a free kick in the 91st minute. Duendes Verdes's Mateo Orlo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Modrić in the 95th minute of play. Emanuel Donio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Neuer having to interfere. Three Lions FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
