The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Fabian Resel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 5th minute, Alexandrino Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the F.C. Sosnowiec defense, Alexandre Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zbyszko Andrzejewski. The F.C. Sosnowiec fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zbyszko Andrzejewski should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Fabian Resel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Vilela was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. After 16 minutes, Norbert Borowski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the F.C. Sosnowiec and the AM United players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to F.C. Sosnowiec getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Norbert Borowski hit a great ball. Norbert Borowski got his second yellow card in the match during the 23rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 26th minute of the match Albertino Cordeiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zbyszko Andrzejewski skillfully saved the ball. In the 27th minute, Lisandro Oliveira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 34 played minutes Manuel Brás rounded F.C. Sosnowiec's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Alexandre Mendonça received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fabian Resel to make the kick off. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind F.C. Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Zbyszko Andrzejewski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, F.C. Sosnowiec's Lucjan Scigan got a free kick in the 59th minute. 59 minutes into the match, F.C. Sosnowiec's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandre Mendonça came free, but Zbyszko Andrzejewski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute, Manuel Brás got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lucjan Kazczyk kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Albertino Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. AM United's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertino Cordeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zbyszko Andrzejewski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 72ndth minute of the game Alexandre Mendonça who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. Sosnowiec's Zbyszko Andrzejewski was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 73 played minutes F.C. Sosnowiec got a freekick which was hit by Ulryk Klejnowski. Manuel Brás received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Zbyszko Andrzejewski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zbyszko Andrzejewski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alexandre Mendonça went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. After 84 minutes of play, F.C. Sosnowiec's Wlodzimierz Odachowski made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Francisco Vilela was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alexandre Mendonça took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zbyszko Andrzejewski. Zbyszko Andrzejewski dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Zbyszko Andrzejewski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. F.C. Sosnowiec's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
