Jozef Koštialik started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Róbert Vajda in the 8th minute of play forced ŠK Horelica's goalkeeper Erik Vajda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th match minute, Gyál United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Róbert Vajda to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute, Jozef Koštialik reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sándor Jászberényi. The goal made the score 1-0. A collision led to Gyál United getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Zoltán Ebedli hit a great ball. František Kazár hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Róbert Tamás hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Gyál United's goalkeeper Sándor Jászberényi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jozef Višňa. After 32 minutes, Zoltán Ebedli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gyál United and the ŠK Horelica players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gyál United's Zoltán Ebedli got a free kick in the 32nd minute. When Tibor Kerékgyártó came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Gyál United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tibor Kerékgyártó couldn't finish the play. In the 39th minute László Medgyesi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erik Vajda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. František Kazár kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and László Medgyesi made a kick off. František Kazár charged in rather forcefully in the 50th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed František Kazár the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 50th match minute, ŠK Horelica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by František Kazár to maneuver through the defense. Gyál United's Sándor Jászberényi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jozef Višňa in the 56th minute of play. Gyál United's László Medgyesi got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 59 played minutes ŠK Horelica got a freekick which was hit by Jozef Ondruš. František Kazár sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ferenc Baróti lost his temper 76 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. A collision led to Gyál United getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Ferenc Baróti hit a great ball. Tibor Kerékgyártó hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Gyál United's Sándor Jászberényi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jozef Koštialik in the 78th minute of play. István Juhász sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. František Kazár got his second yellow card in the match during the 81st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After a defensive mix-up in ŠK Horelica's zone, Balázs Jánosi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik Vajda came out of the goal and Balázs Jánosi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute, Matej Tomka ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sándor Jászberényi was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. ŠK Horelica's Erik Vajda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save ŠK Horelica from getting a goal against them. For all the effort they put into the match, the Gyál United players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for ŠK Horelica.
