Paulinho Fonseca showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Edwin Helwig made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Emanuel Branco sent off a good shot on target. Emanuel Branco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Edwin Helwig made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serge Schophuis in the 29th minute of play forced Jovens Democratas MZC's goalkeeper Marquinhos Diniz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Beetje Moe Re-United's goalkeeper Edwin Helwig had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Célio de Sousa. The supporters of Beetje Moe Re-United booed when Jovens Democratas MZC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roger de Zaaijer might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marquinhos Diniz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Roger de Zaaijer ran back to his position shaking his head. After 39 played minutes Beetje Moe Re-United got a freekick which was hit by Roland Kleiker. Edwin Helwig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulinho Fonseca in the 40th minute of the match. Paulinho Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edwin Helwig read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. A collision led to Beetje Moe Re-United getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Alex Overmars hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serge Schophuis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th match minute, Beetje Moe Re-United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Lambers to maneuver through the defense. Jan Schenning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marquinhos Diniz having to interfere. Jovens Democratas MZC's César Coelho was substituted for Júlio Guerra. Martin Lambers kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Jovens Democratas MZC made a substitution. Aílton Sousa replaced Chico de Toledo. The supporters of Jovens Democratas MZC booed when Beetje Moe Re-United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Lambers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emanuel Branco in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edwin Helwig prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edwin Helwig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sérgio Chaves in the 68th minute of the match. Roland Kleiker kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After 72 minutes of play, Jovens Democratas MZC's Emanuel Branco made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edwin Helwig was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Jovens Democratas MZC's Marquinhos Diniz got control of the ball when Serge Schophuis tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 83 played minutes Beetje Moe Re-United got a freekick which was hit by Roderick Israel. Marquinhos Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Mastebroek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 89th match minute, Jovens Democratas MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aílton Sousa to maneuver through the defense. If Ivo Mastebroek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marquinhos Diniz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Serge Schophuis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 92 minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Jovens Democratas MZC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Beetje Moe Re-United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
