But to his dismay, Robby Di Giuseppe quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Zé Roberto Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augusto Niva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Mochila FC's goal looked a bit too open when Robby Di Giuseppe came free, but Donato Furlan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mochila FC's Donato Furlan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Mochila FC from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robby Di Giuseppe in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donato Furlan saved Mochila FC from getting behind. In the 42ndth minute of the game Robby Di Giuseppe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mochila FC's Donato Furlan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Roberto Fonseca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee ignored ZAFIRO FC's protests and gave Gilberto Ubendu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to ZAFIRO FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Gilberto Ubendu hit a great ball. Geovanni da Silva charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
