Borussia Dortmund MZB's Matheus Savioli got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 19th minute, Granicerul's Răzvan Geolgău ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roman Weidenfeller. Roman Weidenfeller yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Roman Weidenfeller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorinel Munteanu in the 21st minute of the match. Roman Weidenfeller made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Răzvan Geolgău sent off a good shot on target. Radu Jușcă kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, Granicerul's Dorinel Munteanu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roman Weidenfeller. Roman Weidenfeller yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 32 minutes into the match, Matheus Savioli had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Narcis Coman. Granicerul's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matheus Savioli was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorinel Munteanu in the 36th minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund MZB's goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Borussia Dortmund MZB's zone, Răzvan Geolgău stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roman Weidenfeller came out of the goal and Răzvan Geolgău tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Borussia Dortmund MZB's Roman Weidenfeller got control of the ball when Răzvan Geolgău tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Leontin Neața kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roman Weidenfeller. That made the score 3-1 in the 42 minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund MZB's goal looked a bit too open when Dorinel Munteanu came free, but Roman Weidenfeller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dorinel Munteanu to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Dorinel Munteanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Weidenfeller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. This resulted in a 4-2 score and a disappointed Narcis Coman as he didn't even see the shot coming. Roman Weidenfeller took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Răzvan Geolgău, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roman Weidenfeller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leontin Neața, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 84th minute Dorinel Munteanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Weidenfeller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roman Weidenfeller made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leontin Neața in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Dorinel Munteanu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Granicerul fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-2. Dorel Albescu hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. 95 minutes into the match, Dorinel Munteanu notched a goal, 6-2, to the right of Borussia Dortmund MZB's Roman Weidenfeller. Roman Weidenfeller was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Granicerul had played much better football throughout.
