The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Älta BK getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Orlando Engelaar hit a great ball. With 8 minutes on the clock, Kennet Tidéksson commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 7th minute, one of Sunkens Surtröjor:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sunkens Surtröjor. Bengt Vennerkvist hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute of the match Anders Löv shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Karl-Magnus Anundsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The attack was good, but when Sonny Ek in the 22nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 24th minute, Per-Erik Bergfeldt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Älta BK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Ludvig Sundin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Grep having to interfere. 33 minutes had been played when some careless play by Älta BK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Folke Frisk was slow to take the kick. During this time Sunkens Surtröjor's players had a chance to rest. Folke Frisk made a great header on Sunkens Surtröjor's corner, it was just that Älta BK's Edgar Grep managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 37th match minute, Sunkens Surtröjor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Folke Frisk to maneuver through the defense. 38 minutes into the match, Sunkens Surtröjor's goal looked a bit too open when Per-Erik Bergfeldt came free, but Karl-Magnus Anundsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 39th minute, Per-Erik Bergfeldt made a precise shot to the right of Karl-Magnus Anundsson. Sunkens Surtröjor's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Karl-Magnus Anundsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sonny Ek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bengt Vennerkvist to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Sunkens Surtröjor's Folke Frisk got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Sunkens Surtröjor's Karl-Magnus Anundsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Sunkens Surtröjor from getting a goal against them. In the 58th minute, Per-Erik Bergfeldt had to leave the field with a concussion. 58 minutes into the game, William Eriksson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sunkens Surtröjor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Älta BK the free kick. Älta BK made a substitution. Ralf Sillén replaced Joel Danielsson. After a defensive mix-up in Sunkens Surtröjor's zone, Per-Erik Bergfeldt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Karl-Magnus Anundsson came out of the goal and Per-Erik Bergfeldt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edgar Grep showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ludvig Sundin, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Sonny Ek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bengt Vennerkvist struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Edgar Grep didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sunkens Surtröjor. Nils-Emil Engman hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Nils-Emil Engman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Älta BK's Stig-Åke Alström pulled a muscle in his leg after 92 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Albert Bergqvist's late challenge caught a Älta BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albert Bergqvist helped the player get up and apologised. After 93 played minutes Sunkens Surtröjor got a freekick which was hit by Albert Bergqvist. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Älta BK eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
