In the 19th minute Abel Gana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niculae Andronescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anton Țepeneag scored 2-0 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jorge Vicente Basay, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anton Țepeneag to make the kick off. If Anton Țepeneag had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 54 minutes, Jaime Rufo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Deportes Santa Cruz and the FC Ruscova players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 55 played minutes, FC Ruscova's Andrei Victor shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jorge Vicente Basay came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Ruscova reached it. In the 59th minute, Petru Brânzaș hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Gerónimo Alonso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerónimo Alonso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anton Țepeneag sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Club Deportes Santa Cruz's Jorge Vicente Basay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anton Țepeneag in the 92nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Ruscova's Aurelian Bărcăuan got a free kick in the 95th minute.
