Despite this Alfonso Valentine quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Merceron United defense, Ermegildo Jerrald kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dario Gelsomini. The Merceron United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dario Gelsomini should have stopped the shot. In the 20th minute Leonel Enaut shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dario Gelsomini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, RED DEVIL's Alfonso Valentine got control of the ball when Ennio Guidoni tried to sneak it across the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Merceron United's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Enaut came free, but Dario Gelsomini reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the game, RED DEVIL's Ermegildo Jerrald nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dario Gelsomini made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Dario Gelsomini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermegildo Jerrald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the game, Teo Chale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RED DEVIL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merceron United the free kick. After a rather tough play, RED DEVIL's Teo Chale got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After having played for 37 minutes, Leonel Enaut managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RED DEVIL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonel Enaut was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Justino Hug hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After the first half RED DEVIL were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ennio Marcantonio to strike the kick off in the second half. Ermegildo Jerrald might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dario Gelsomini. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ermegildo Jerrald ran back to his position shaking his head. RED DEVIL's Alfonso Valentine played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ennio Marcantonio in the 79th minute of play. Alfonso Valentine made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ennio Marcantonio in the 81st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ennio Marcantonio in the 86th minute of play forced RED DEVIL's goalkeeper Alfonso Valentine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cayetano Belasko hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Alfonso Valentine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ennio Marcantonio in the 88th minute of the match.
