The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute of the match Eugen Carabulea shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Froilan Dolcet showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Ibirama Futebol Clube's Túlio Geniatulin got a free kick in the 8th minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC Buzău's zone, Oséias Severo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alex Buzincu came out of the goal and Oséias Severo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Buzău's Alex Buzincu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Túlio Geniatulin in the 16th minute of play. Froilan Dolcet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrei Rogozea, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Froilan Dolcet stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrei Rogozea's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Alex Buzincu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Félix, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Joaquim Félix notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Buzău's Alex Buzincu. Alex Buzincu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andrei Rogozea in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Froilan Dolcet saved Ibirama Futebol Clube from getting behind. Alex Buzincu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Félix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the game, Mihăiţă Iriza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Froilan Dolcet was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Ibirama Futebol Clube defense, Andrei Rogozea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Froilan Dolcet. The Ibirama Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Froilan Dolcet should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andrei Rogozea in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Froilan Dolcet saved Ibirama Futebol Clube from getting behind. George Ţiţeica might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Froilan Dolcet. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. George Ţiţeica ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Ibirama Futebol Clube's Oséias Severo got a free kick in the 43rd minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Andrei Rogozea made the kick off in the second half. Alex Buzincu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Félix in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 55th minute Mihăiţă Iriza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froilan Dolcet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Buzău's Alex Buzincu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save FC Buzău from getting a goal against them. Agostinho Cabral could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Alex Buzincu made a huge save. Alex Buzincu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Félix in the 64th minute of the match. After 67 played minutes FC Buzău got a freekick which was hit by Mihăiţă Iriza. When FC Buzău's Andrei Rogozea in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ibirama Futebol Clube's goalie prevented a goal. In the 79th minute Túlio Geniatulin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Buzincu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andrei Rogozea in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Froilan Dolcet prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Ibirama Futebol Clube booed when FC Buzău was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristide Vlădoiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ibirama Futebol Clube players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Buzău.
