In the 17th minute, Thomás Braga reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edwardo Giribet. The goal made the score 1-0. Hugo Gerber received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Edwardo Giribet came out and tried to block the shot, but Hugo Gerber slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 20th minute. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Walmyr Lira took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Edwardo Giribet to make any attempt to save it. After 28 minutes, Renan Diniz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barrenta SC and the La Fusiion players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of La Fusiion booed when Barrenta SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renan Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tito Insausti in the 29th minute of play. Edwardo Giribet came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Barrenta SC's Walmyr Lira. But to his dismay, Walmyr Lira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 33 minutes in the game, Sydney Carioca fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Edwardo Giribet having to interfere. Edwardo Giribet was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Joel Sabóia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 33 minute of play. Edwardo Giribet didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Walmyr Lira went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Edwardo Giribet took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmyr Lira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 7-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sydney Carioca made a kick off. After some careless play in the La Fusiion defense, Hugo Gerber kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edwardo Giribet. The La Fusiion fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwardo Giribet should have stopped the shot. Edwardo Giribet showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walmyr Lira in the 54th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sydney Carioca in the 58th minute of play forced La Fusiion's goalkeeper Edwardo Giribet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. La Fusiion's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 79th minute Luiz Fábio Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwardo Giribet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, La Fusiion's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fábio Lima came free, but Edwardo Giribet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
