Spectators: 165 (Terracing: 124, Seating: 38, VIP seats: 3) Cătălin Cosâmbescu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 2nd match minute, Les Presidents FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mario Benitez to maneuver through the defense. In the 3rd minute, Sorin Nicorici hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cătălin Cosâmbescu in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg James Madison saved Les Presidents FC from getting behind. James Madison took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Golo Phoenix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 13 minutes of play, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Lucian Şimonca made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. James Madison was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 16th minute, Calistrat Şerbănescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. James Madison took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mircea Jupân, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Kristiaan Dirickx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Golo Phoenix took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised James Madison. James Madison dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. James Madison didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Calistrat Şerbănescu went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. James Madison didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cătălin Cosâmbescu went, in the 35th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. 41 minutes into the match, Les Presidents FC's goal looked a bit too open when Golo Phoenix came free, but James Madison reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca's Cătălin Cosâmbescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. James Madison made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Sergio Van den Inde made the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca got a freekick which was hit by Calistrat Şerbănescu. After a rather tough play, Les Presidents FC's Mieszko Domarecki got a free kick in the 53rd minute. 63 minutes into the match, Les Presidents FC's Sergio Van den Inde sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dacian Ghițescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 64 played minutes Les Presidents FC got a freekick which was hit by Václav Havel. James Madison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cătălin Cosâmbescu in the 66th minute of play. The supporters of PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca booed when Les Presidents FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristiaan Dirickx didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Sergio Van den Inde's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dacian Ghițescu was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. If Cătălin Cosâmbescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing PHOENIX Cluj-Napoca would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
