Bernardo Mastronardi hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After having played for 16 minutes, Bernie Strauss managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grêmio Santo André's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernie Strauss was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 20 minutes in the game, Osvaldo Pernambucano fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Edoardo Di Lorenzo having to interfere. Wellington Vaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Edoardo Di Lorenzo made a huge save. Grêmio Santo André's Jaime Cabral got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mo Chen Yang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Pelliccioni in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Pelliccioni in the 27th minute of play forced Grêmio Santo André's goalkeeper Mo Chen Yang to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wellington Vaz struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Edoardo Di Lorenzo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio Santo André. Grêmio Santo André's Wellington Vaz got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Supremacy Catania FC's Edoardo Di Lorenzo got control of the ball when Wellington Vaz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Igor Czech could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Edoardo Di Lorenzo made a huge save. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jaime Cabral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 50th match minute, Supremacy Catania FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Mastronardi to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Cabral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edoardo Di Lorenzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osvaldo Pernambucano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 minutes of play Grêmio Santo André's Wellington Vaz was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Supremacy Catania FC booed when Grêmio Santo André was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wellington Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Supremacy Catania FC's Eraldo Trotta got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Supremacy Catania FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Eraldo Trotta hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florian Bergomi during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Alberto Pelliccioni took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Mo Chen Yang to make any attempt to save it. In the 78th minute, Osvaldo Pernambucano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edoardo Di Lorenzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Igor Czech, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the game, Bernie Strauss cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Edoardo Di Lorenzo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bernardo Mastronardi kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Jaime Cabral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Igor Czech took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edoardo Di Lorenzo. Edoardo Di Lorenzo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After 92 played minutes Supremacy Catania FC got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Pelliccioni. Osvaldo Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edoardo Di Lorenzo having to interfere. Edmondo Gazza kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. If Osvaldo Pernambucano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Supremacy Catania FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
