Nikola Krstović might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin Hoskin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nikola Krstović ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice moves Nikola Krstović could shoot a difficult shot in the 4th minute, which Edwin Hoskin however easily saved by the left post. Nikola Krstović struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Edwin Hoskin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFK Petržalka. In the 11th minute, Nikola Krstović made a precise shot to the right of Edwin Hoskin. Abbotsford FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. When Dušan Ferenčík fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFK Petržalka's protests and gave Dušan Ferenčík a yellow card for diving instead. In the 13th minute, one of AFK Petržalka:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AFK Petržalka. Edwin Hoskin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikola Krstović in the 18th minute of play. Nikola Krstović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nikola Krstović might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin Hoskin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nikola Krstović ran back to his position shaking his head. Nikola Krstović's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edwin Hoskin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. When AFK Petržalka's Dávid Strelec in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Abbotsford FC's goalie prevented a goal. Edwin Hoskin was out of position in the 32 minute of play, and Nikola Krstović capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nikola Krstović really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Edwin Hoskin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikola Krstović in the 43rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Nikola Krstović kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Edwin Hoskin. That made the score 3-1 in the 46 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A collision led to Abbotsford FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Burtt Kernick hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nikola Krstović in the 55th minute of play forced Abbotsford FC's goalkeeper Edwin Hoskin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edwin Hoskin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nikola Krstović's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Abbotsford FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dávid Strelec came free, but Edwin Hoskin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Abbotsford FC defense, Nikola Krstović kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edwin Hoskin. The Abbotsford FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwin Hoskin should have stopped the shot. Nikola Krstović might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin Hoskin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nikola Krstović ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 70th minute, Nikola Krstović ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edwin Hoskin was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. After a defensive mix-up in Abbotsford FC's zone, Nikola Krstović stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edwin Hoskin came out of the goal and Nikola Krstović tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 79 minutes of play, AFK Petržalka's Nikola Krstović made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edwin Hoskin was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nikola Krstović might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin Hoskin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nikola Krstović ran back to his position shaking his head. Edwin Hoskin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nikola Krstović, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the game, AFK Petržalka's Nikola Krstović nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edwin Hoskin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-1. Nikola Krstović's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edwin Hoskin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Edwin Hoskin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nikola Krstović went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-1 was the resulting score. When the referee ended the match the AFK Petržalka players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
