Leonid Zhdanov took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Trần Cong Vinh. Trần Cong Vinh dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Irakliy Khokhlov came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Yucatan Chichén Itzá's Carlos Giro. But to his dismay, Carlos Giro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. When FC Yucatan Chichén Itzá's Jimeno Donostia in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Днепр ФК's goalie prevented a goal. 24 minutes into the match, Marat Shpagin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Trần Cong Vinh. FC Yucatan Chichén Itzá's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marat Shpagin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. A collision led to Днепр ФК getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Gerasim Zastavskiy hit a great ball. In the 27th minute, Sebastian Bela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 29th minute Jimeno Donostia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Irakliy Khokhlov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Sebastian Bela made a precise shot to the right of Irakliy Khokhlov. Днепр ФК's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. 34 minutes into the match, Jimeno Donostia dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Irakliy Khokhlov, 3-2. Jimeno Donostia kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Irakliy Khokhlov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimeno Donostia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 45 minutes into the game, Днепр ФК's Rudolf Kotlyarevskiy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Trần Cong Vinh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3.

The wind increased when Marat Shpagin made the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the game, Carlos Giro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3. Irakliy Khokhlov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 58 played minutes FC Yucatan Chichén Itzá got a freekick which was hit by Astor Lop. Sergey Bilyaletdinov was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 59th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Irakliy Khokhlov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Bela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonid Zhdanov in the 62nd minute of play forced FC Yucatan Chichén Itzá's goalkeeper Trần Cong Vinh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trần Cong Vinh made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Gerasim Zastavskiy sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimeno Donostia in the 68th minute of play forced Днепр ФК's goalkeeper Irakliy Khokhlov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Sergey Bilyaletdinov fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Днепр ФК's protests and gave Sergey Bilyaletdinov a yellow card for diving instead.
