But to his dismay, Benito Ixona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. After 43 played minutes Sporting Club Sicilia got a freekick which was hit by Carter Marsili. In the 45th minute, Leon Platense's Benito Ixona dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gilberto Astudillo to make the kick off. The supporters of Leon Platense booed when Sporting Club Sicilia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carter Marsili didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Leon Platense fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sporting Club Sicilia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
