After a defensive mix-up in Club Olimpia's zone, Witomir Jarocewicz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dalmacio Caldueño came out of the goal and Witomir Jarocewicz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Club Olimpia getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Gorbea Sasiain hit a great ball. Dalmacio Caldueño made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Edelmiro Ayala sent off a good shot on target. Dalmacio Caldueño showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edelmiro Ayala in the 15th minute of the match. With a little luck, Club Olimpia's Dalmacio Caldueño got control of the ball when Przemyslaw Smolarek tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute Edelmiro Ayala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmacio Caldueño saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Witomir Jarocewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Medero Quevedo struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Waclaw Cytrynski didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Olimpia. Waclaw Cytrynski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. When Gorbea Sasiain fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Olimpia's protests and gave Gorbea Sasiain a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pork Eating Crusader booed when Club Olimpia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gorbea Sasiain didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edelmiro Ayala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Dalmacio Caldueño tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Club Olimpia got a freekick which was hit by Rubio Guardia. Fryderyk Koczara's late challenge caught a Club Olimpia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fryderyk Koczara helped the player get up and apologised. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fernando Cardozo to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Club Olimpia booed when Pork Eating Crusader was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fryderyk Koczara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dalmacio Caldueño didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edelmiro Ayala went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Club Olimpia's Dalmacio Caldueño played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Przemyslaw Smolarek in the 65th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Przemyslaw Smolarek in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dalmacio Caldueño saved Club Olimpia from getting behind. Paulo Cabrera kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 75th minute Przemyslaw Smolarek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmacio Caldueño saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Fernando Cardozo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Olimpia's goalkeeper Dalmacio Caldueño, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edelmiro Ayala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalmacio Caldueño having to interfere. Waclaw Cytrynski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 96th minute, Lucjan Parzysz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pork Eating Crusader's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
