After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Thinlay Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gracie Barra's supporters rose to their feet, but Thinlay Machado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Betão de Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorival Veloso in the 10th minute of play forced Gracie Barra's goalkeeper Leopoldo Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. S.E. Cachoeirinha's Betão de Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thiti Machado in the 12th minute of play. When Enio do Valle, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 17 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Betão de Amaral was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 22 minutes, Leopoldo Queirós successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 24 minutes, Thiti Machado made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. S.E. Cachoeirinha's Betão de Amaral tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Leopoldo Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elder Luz in the 30th minute of play. After 31 played minutes S.E. Cachoeirinha got a freekick which was hit by Dorival Veloso. After 32 played minutes, Gracie Barra's Gustavo Xavier shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Betão de Amaral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gracie Barra reached it. When Gracie Barra's Thiti Machado in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye S.E. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gracie Barra reached it. The audience was convinced that Thiti Machado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Betão de Amaral was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Betão de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thiti Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Gracie Barra were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dorival Veloso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enio do Valle got free with Betão de Amaral in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 53 minutes into the match, S.E. Cachoeirinha's goal looked a bit too open when Enio do Valle came free, but Betão de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 55th minute of the match, Enio do Valle got a very nice opportunity to score, but Betão de Amaral was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Betão de Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enio do Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Flavinho Koehler hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Elias Vianna charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elias Vianna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 71 played minutes S.E. Cachoeirinha got a freekick which was hit by Elias Vianna. A hard shot by Chicão Donatello from long distance, 72 minutes into the match, got Betão de Amaral's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Gracie Barra's Leopoldo Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elder Luz in the 74th minute of play. Enio do Valle's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Betão de Amaral firmly grabbed it by the left post. The supporters of Gracie Barra booed when S.E. Cachoeirinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elder Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Recife hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, S.E. Cachoeirinha's goal looked a bit too open when Thiti Machado came free, but Betão de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Gracie Barra fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when Gracie Barra's Thiti Machado looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal.
