Oldham Athletic's Maximilian Ryberg was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Angelino Eufrasio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Fausto Dalmai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Pihlgren having to interfere. Fausto Dalmai hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Angelino Eufrasio acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 13th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Sten Bolander. Angelino Eufrasio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arman Gregersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anastasio Bieito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Pihlgren having to interfere. A collision led to Oldham Athletic getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Valentin Jonsson hit a great ball. Adrian Pettersson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Angelino Eufrasio made a huge save. In the 23rd minute of the match, Adrian Pettersson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Angelino Eufrasio was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to AKD getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Elvio Blasi hit a great ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Adrian Pettersson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oldham Athletic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrian Pettersson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Angelino Eufrasio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arman Gregersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After a rather tough play, Oldham Athletic's Adrian Pettersson got a free kick in the 45th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adrian Pettersson made a kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Oldham Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bror Hegg to maneuver through the defense. Mattias Pihlgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Porfirio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute of the match Maximilian Ryberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angelino Eufrasio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Anastasio Bieito came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the AKD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anastasio Bieito couldn't finish the play. Valentin Jonsson kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After 77 minutes of play, Oldham Athletic's Ingvar Bollström made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelino Eufrasio was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, AKD's Fausto Dalmai got a free kick in the 80th minute. Angelino Eufrasio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingvar Bollström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Celso Porfirio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oldham Athletic were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of AKD for a fine match.
