In the 3rd minute Aquiles Leonidas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tales Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 5 played minutes Sport Club Cevada got a freekick which was hit by Raphael Martins. Tales Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Leonidas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruninho Montenegro came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Sport Club Cevada's Moisés Linhares. But to his dismay, Moisés Linhares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 15th minute, Fabiano de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Flamengo FSCMZ getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Marco Fonseca hit a great ball. After 17 minutes, Aquiles Leonidas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flamengo FSCMZ and the Sport Club Cevada players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Flamengo FSCMZ's Aquiles Leonidas got a free kick in the 17th minute. After 20 played minutes Flamengo FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Andrade. Cido Coelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Flamengo FSCMZ's Bruninho Montenegro got control of the ball when Moisés Linhares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aquiles Leonidas struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Tales Schmidt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flamengo FSCMZ. 38 minutes into the game, Maurinho Favoretto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Club Cevada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Flamengo FSCMZ the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sport Club Cevada's Maurinho Favoretto got a free kick in the 38th minute. Bruninho Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moisés Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Bruninho Montenegro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kaká Batista in the 43rd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raphael Martins was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Flamengo FSCMZ booed when Sport Club Cevada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cido Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sven-Erik Harman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elder Soares during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Flamengo FSCMZ booed when Sport Club Cevada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elder Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sven-Erik Harman scored 1-2 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tales Schmidt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Flamengo FSCMZ's Bruninho Montenegro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Linhares in the 60th minute of play. After some careless play in the Flamengo FSCMZ defense, Moisés Linhares kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruninho Montenegro. The Flamengo FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruninho Montenegro should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moisés Linhares in the 68th minute of play forced Flamengo FSCMZ's goalkeeper Bruninho Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felippe Rosa during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Flamengo FSCMZ players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
