Leo Gaskon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in BAIRES's zone, Arturo Pfäffli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leo Gaskon came out of the goal and Arturo Pfäffli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 25 minutes into the match, Fischverband Ostschweiz's goalkeeper Nils Federer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Cebrian. 27 minutes into the game, Fischverband Ostschweiz's Björn Frei nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leo Gaskon made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. 31 minutes into the match, Leonard Beller notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of BAIRES's Leo Gaskon. Leo Gaskon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leonard Beller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of BAIRES booed when Fischverband Ostschweiz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Beller didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nils Federer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Cebrian in the 39th minute of play. When Björn Frei came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Fischverband Ostschweiz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Björn Frei couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björn Frei in the 48th minute of play forced BAIRES's goalkeeper Leo Gaskon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the match had gone on for 56 minutes, Abelardo Ermengol put it in 1-4 from a short distance just to the right of Nils Federer. With a little luck, BAIRES's Leo Gaskon got control of the ball when Arturo Pfäffli tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fischverband Ostschweiz's Leonard Beller got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leo Gaskon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonard Beller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to BAIRES getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Miguel Cebrian hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Leo Gaskon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 72 minutes into the game, Abelardo Ermengol cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-4. Nils Federer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. But to his dismay, Abelardo Ermengol quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abelardo Ermengol during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to BAIRES getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Abelardo Ermengol hit a great ball. In the 92nd match minute, Fischverband Ostschweiz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gitano Wendelspiess to maneuver through the defense. In the 97th minute Leonard Beller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Gaskon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
