The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfonso Cilio during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Memphis Grizzlies's Brandon Branson was substituted for Brian Kay. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Bates got free with Jairo Elixio in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 10th minute of the match Memphis Grizzlies got a corner. JS 22's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Freddie Gettins ran over to the corner to take the kick. 12 minutes into the match, Darío Cvitanich notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Memphis Grizzlies's Pat Zamora. Pat Zamora was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sam Bates might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jairo Elixio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sam Bates ran back to his position shaking his head. Sam Bates could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Jairo Elixio made a huge save. With a little luck, JS 22's Jairo Elixio got control of the ball when Sam Bates tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of JS 22 booed when Memphis Grizzlies was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rob Gillespie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sam Bates struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Jairo Elixio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Memphis Grizzlies. Jairo Elixio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sam Bates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Sam Bates had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jairo Elixio. JS 22's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sam Bates was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The throw-in from Richie Ashton in the 38th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by JS 22's Alfonso Cilio. Alfonso Cilio kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sam Bates in the 45th minute of play forced JS 22's goalkeeper Jairo Elixio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sam Bates made a kick off. JS 22's attentive Alfonso Cilio managed to snatch the ball when Richie Ashton made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. When Sam Bates came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Memphis Grizzlies fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sam Bates couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Memphis Grizzlies booed when JS 22 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Freddie Gettins, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Sam Bates struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Jairo Elixio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Memphis Grizzlies. Darío Cvitanich could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Pat Zamora made a huge save. A collision led to Memphis Grizzlies getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Yin Zhen Feng hit a great ball. After 88 played minutes, JS 22's Barnaba Kilarski shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pat Zamora came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in JS 22 reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Barnaba Kilarski got free with Pat Zamora in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 92nd minute, Barnaba Kilarski fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Pat Zamora, passed just outside the right post. Freddie Gettins missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 98 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Jairo Elixio right hand side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. JS 22 walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
