Carlinhos da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paco Melo in the 12th minute of the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Haroldo Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Sanches was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Válter de Sousa got free with Kacper Tobias in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When João Francisco de Mendonça fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jairo Dantel in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlinhos da Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kenya's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
