The referee ignored Bem Bolado's protests and gave Diego Faria a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th match minute, Bem Bolado was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Faria to maneuver through the defense. Feliks Bury made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Cláudio Donatello sent off a good shot on target. Wilson Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Francisco Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wilson Lima's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Feliks Bury read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. José Carlos Siqueira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Feliks Bury. Olimpia Koło's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. José Maria Branco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miromir Pazura, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Cláudio Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Feliks Bury having to interfere. 37 minutes into the game, Bem Bolado's Wilson Lima nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Feliks Bury made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andrzej Gollob to strike the kick off in the second half. If Cláudio Donatello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pawel Tarka in the 53rd minute of play forced Bem Bolado's goalkeeper José Maria Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Maria Branco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miromir Pazura in the 55th minute. Feliks Bury made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilson Lima in the 56th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cláudio Donatello in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Feliks Bury prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Feliks Bury stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cláudio Donatello's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Andrzej Gollob dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of José Maria Branco, 1-1. In the 84th minute, Andrzej Gollob ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Maria Branco was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The audience was convinced that Wilson Lima's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Feliks Bury was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. When Bem Bolado's Wilson Lima in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Olimpia Koło's goalie prevented a goal. Feliks Bury took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Bem Bolado lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
