The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lorenzo Fe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquin George stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oro Villalon's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. In the 8th minute, Santos Novales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascual Lesardo in the 9th minute of play forced Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Guillen Piñera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ixidor Herquinigo's late challenge caught a Dep Colonia Avellaneda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ixidor Herquinigo helped the player get up and apologised. Ixidor Herquinigo hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Oro Villalon's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Joaquin George skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 21st match minute, Berenjenas de Punto Fijo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olo Berlanga to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's zone, Pascual Lesardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guillen Piñera came out of the goal and Pascual Lesardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pascual Lesardo took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guillen Piñera. Guillen Piñera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 32nd match minute, Dep Colonia Avellaneda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guaberto Pero to maneuver through the defense. Pascual Lesardo charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pascual Lesardo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th match minute, Dep Colonia Avellaneda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pascual Lesardo to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Ramond Mascareñas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Dep Colonia Avellaneda's zone, Kaiet Ambrosio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin George came out of the goal and Kaiet Ambrosio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

60 minutes into the match, Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Pascual Lesardo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Guillen Piñera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Lorenzo Fe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lorenzo Fe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Guillen Piñera made a huge save. Ramond Mascareñas hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's Guillen Piñera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Berenjenas de Punto Fijo from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Lorenzo Fe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dep Colonia Avellaneda's supporters rose to their feet, but Lorenzo Fe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guillen Piñera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's Guillen Piñera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pascual Lesardo in the 71st minute of play. Kaiet Ambrosio scored 2-2 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin George, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With his leg Guillen Piñera managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Dep Colonia Avellaneda's Lorenzo Fe fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The crowd rose to their feet as Lorenzo Fe kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Guillen Piñera. That made the score 2-3 in the 78 minute of play. Pascual Lesardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Guillen Piñera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nicanor Izel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute of the match, Lorenzo Fe got a very nice opportunity to score, but Guillen Piñera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Dep Colonia Avellaneda booed when Berenjenas de Punto Fijo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barros Oliver didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute, Gavino Fernado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Dep Colonia Avellaneda could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Berenjenas de Punto Fijo throughout the match.
