Bornova's Sonny Alén proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Bornova from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carleton Howie in the 16th minute of play forced Bornova's goalkeeper Sonny Alén to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Artun Kaçan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Neville Peach was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Mümtazer Yelesen kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Amputees FC's goal looked a bit too open when Artun Kaçan came free, but Neville Peach reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sermet Yalgın made a great header on Bornova's corner, it was just that Amputees FC's Neville Peach managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 31st minute, Carleton Howie made a precise shot to the right of Sonny Alén. Bornova's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Amputees FC's Neville Peach played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şeref Onatkan in the 35th minute of play. Sonny Alén showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Laing, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Abraham Laing's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sonny Alén read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dagan Eicke got free with Sonny Alén in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Neville Peach came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Bornova's Artun Kaçan. But to his dismay, Artun Kaçan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Artun Kaçan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bornova's Sonny Alén played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carleton Howie in the 51st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Bornova's zone, Arne Gronow stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sonny Alén came out of the goal and Arne Gronow tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artun Kaçan in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Neville Peach prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 59th minute Bornova were awarded a corner. Sermet Yalgın went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Bornova's Çeliker Barbaros to fire away a dangerous shot which Neville Peach despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Artun Kaçan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ed Royans hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Artun Kaçan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neville Peach having to interfere. Vedat Arabacıoğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bornova's goalkeeper Sonny Alén, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The corner ended in Marcus Roach almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Bornova's Sonny Alén did a great save. The supporters of Bornova booed when Amputees FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abraham Laing didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sonny Alén took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Laing, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dagan Eicke in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sonny Alén prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 80 played minutes Amputees FC got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Roach. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carleton Howie in the 83rd minute of play forced Bornova's goalkeeper Sonny Alén to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sonny Alén showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Laing in the 85th minute of the match. Bornova's Artun Kaçan got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mümtazer Yelesen during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Bornova getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Mümtazer Yelesen hit a great ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
