Arsenal MGK's Frisco Gómez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xu Yun Quan in the 2nd minute of play. 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by Arsenal MGK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Diego Cagna was slow to take the kick. During this time C. A. Independiente's players had a chance to rest. In the 7th minute, Léo Falcão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frisco Gómez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xu Yun Quan in the 8th minute of the match. Frisco Gómez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xu Yun Quan, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Ubaldo Fillol made an important save on a dangerous shot by Barnaba Drebit in the 14th minute. The supporters of Arsenal MGK booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wallace Whatley didn't get a good kick on the ball. C. A. Independiente's Gilbert Guzman managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Luiz Guilherme Prado in the 16 minute of the game. After 19 minutes, Xu Yun Quan made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Arsenal MGK's Frisco Gómez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Xu Yun Quan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frisco Gómez having to make a save. Frisco Gómez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xu Yun Quan in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xu Yun Quan in the 27th minute of play forced Arsenal MGK's goalkeeper Frisco Gómez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Vasconcelos in the 28th minute of play forced C. A. Independiente's goalkeeper Ubaldo Fillol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xu Yun Quan in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frisco Gómez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Frisco Gómez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandy Spaulding's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Ubaldo Fillol was a little too slow when Al Pištěk got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 1-1. Frisco Gómez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandy Spaulding, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Frisco Gómez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sandy Spaulding, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led C. A. Independiente's Gustavo López to fire away a dangerous shot which Frisco Gómez despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Xu Yun Quan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frisco Gómez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Arsenal MGK's goalkeeper Frisco Gómez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Frisco Gómez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandy Spaulding in the 46th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The wind increased when Sandy Spaulding made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Arsenal MGK's zone, Xu Yun Quan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frisco Gómez came out of the goal and Xu Yun Quan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xu Yun Quan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frisco Gómez having to make a save. 62 minutes into the match, Arsenal MGK's goal looked a bit too open when Xu Yun Quan came free, but Frisco Gómez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65 played minutes C. A. Independiente got a freekick which was hit by Elliot Orozco. Marcelo Vasconcelos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 70 minutes, Xu Yun Quan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. A. Independiente's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xu Yun Quan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xu Yun Quan in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frisco Gómez saved Arsenal MGK from getting behind. Sandy Spaulding who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Frisco Gómez when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 76 minutes into the match, C. A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Vasconcelos came free, but Ubaldo Fillol reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Léo Falcão kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After 79 minutes of play, C. A. Independiente's Xu Yun Quan made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Frisco Gómez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luiz Guilherme Prado hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 85thth minute of the game Xu Yun Quan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arsenal MGK's Frisco Gómez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Arsenal MGK's Ricardo Moraes got a free kick in the 85th minute. The audience was convinced that Xu Yun Quan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frisco Gómez was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. In the 88th match minute, Arsenal MGK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Guilherme Prado to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th minute Xu Yun Quan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frisco Gómez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Arsenal MGK's Frisco Gómez got control of the ball when Xu Yun Quan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 95th minute C. A. Independiente were awarded a corner. Diego Cagna went to the cornerflag to take it. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched C. A. Independiente eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
