Danny Pasquier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goal looked a bit too open when Youri Djorkaeff came free, but Giraldo Laiseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute Youri Djorkaeff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giraldo Laiseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Bilal Moutte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Avel Vat's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CERRO PORTEÑO the free kick. Despite being the better team, Avel Vat failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
