Patrick McDonald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torbjörn Hägglund in the 11th minute of the match. With a little luck, IFK Gladdarna's Emanuel Björkdahl got control of the ball when Baoithin Doherty tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Emil Trulsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugeniusz Cichewski struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Patrick McDonald didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IFK Gladdarna. 1948 MKS's Dawayne McJohnny got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th match minute, 1948 MKS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bola Taylor to maneuver through the defense. Emil Trulsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick McDonald having to interfere. If Henric Smefeldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Eugeniusz Cichewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick McDonald having to interfere. Emanuel Björkdahl had great luck who in the 44thth minute grab hold of the ball when Baoithin Doherty from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baoithin Doherty to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, David Arenstedt took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Patrick McDonald to make any attempt to save it. 57 minutes into the game, IFK Gladdarna's Emil Trulsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Patrick McDonald made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. 1948 MKS's Patrick McDonald proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save 1948 MKS from getting a goal against them. After 62 minutes of play, IFK Gladdarna's Henric Smefeldt made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Patrick McDonald was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Torbjörn Hägglund took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Patrick McDonald to make any attempt to save it. 69 minutes into the match, David Arenstedt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Patrick McDonald. 1948 MKS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Arenstedt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. Patrick McDonald was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emil Trulsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 73 minute of play. Baoithin Doherty recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 1948 MKS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Torbjörn Hägglund scored to the left of an out of position Patrick McDonald, making the score, 0-9. After a rather tough play, IFK Gladdarna's David Arenstedt got a free kick in the 80th minute. David Arenstedt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Patrick McDonald having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emil Trulsson got free with Patrick McDonald in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. IFK Gladdarna's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
