The audience thought a goal was coming when Horacio Matthew got free with Tobias Elizardo in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to TORQUE F.C. getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Ismael Manilan hit a great ball. In the 16th minute, Rodolfo Guerau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sarmiento de Resistencia's Tobias Elizardo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Sarmiento de Resistencia from getting a goal against them. Sarmiento de Resistencia's Rodolfo Guerau got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tobias Elizardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Horacio Matthew, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. With a little luck, Sarmiento de Resistencia's Tobias Elizardo got control of the ball when Horacio Matthew tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in TORQUE F.C.'s zone, Rodolfo Guerau stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Blas Roldanillo came out of the goal and Rodolfo Guerau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute Sarmiento de Resistencia were awarded a corner. Bogumil Spychalski went to the cornerflag to take it. Sarmiento de Resistencia's Bogumil Spychalski was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Blas Roldanillo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Tobias Elizardo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elvio Gaufred in the 92nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horacio Matthew in the 94th minute of play forced Sarmiento de Resistencia's goalkeeper Tobias Elizardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
