The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Richard Sciranka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomero Ugaitz having to interfere. Matúš Hnilica charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Matúš Hnilica the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th match minute, FC Melon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matúš Hnilica to maneuver through the defense. Michal Hvorecký kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Ondrej Smrečko made in the 8th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Erik Šrobár immediately put the ball in play. 10 minutes into the game, Jeremias Oso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Real Còrdoba FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Melon the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moise Tomulescu got free with Edgar Vieira in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Real Còrdoba FC's Baldomero Ugaitz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Cibulka in the 15th minute of play. In the 19thth minute of the game Michal Hvorecký who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Còrdoba FC's Baldomero Ugaitz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikel Arteta in the 20th minute of play forced FC Melon's goalkeeper Edgar Vieira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, FC Melon's goal looked a bit too open when Nils-Emil Vallgren came free, but Edgar Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nils-Emil Vallgren in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgar Vieira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 27 minutes, Róbert Galis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Melon and the Real Còrdoba FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Real Còrdoba FC booed when FC Melon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbert Galis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mikel Arteta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Vieira having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, FC Melon's Michal Tuka nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baldomero Ugaitz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Baldomero Ugaitz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Michal Hvorecký's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Mikel Arteta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Real Còrdoba FC's Nils-Emil Vallgren got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Moise Tomulescus short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Edgar Vieira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Matúš Mertel fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Melon's protests and gave Matúš Mertel a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 played minutes FC Melon got a freekick which was hit by Matúš Mertel. Baldomero Ugaitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matúš Mertel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nils-Emil Vallgren was the one to do the kick off. Michal Hvorecký's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Baldomero Ugaitz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Michal Hvorecký did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Baldomero Ugaitz 52 minutes into the match. Baldomero Ugaitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik Šrobár, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56th minute of the match FC Melon got a corner. Real Còrdoba FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomáš Barčík ran over to the corner to take the kick. Michal Hvorecký sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Melon made a substitution. Peter Starší replaced Richard Sciranka. Baldomero Ugaitz stood somewhat misplaced when Peter Starší came free in front of goal and shot 2-3 to the left of him in the 64 minute. Baldomero Ugaitz made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Gabriel Cibulka sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, FC Melon's Róbert Galis got a free kick in the 67th minute. After 68 played minutes FC Melon got a freekick which was hit by Ondrej Smrečko. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nils-Emil Vallgren in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edgar Vieira saved FC Melon from getting behind. FC Melon's Edgar Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils-Emil Vallgren in the 73rd minute of play. Michal Hvorecký sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edgar Vieira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils-Emil Vallgren in the 77th minute of play. Real Còrdoba FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fernando Abascal in the 78th minute. At last the ball reached Lisandro Rolado at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of FC Melon. 3-3. In the 88th minute, Gabriel Cibulka got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Baldomero Ugaitz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Michal Hvorecký in the 90th minute. Baldomero Ugaitz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miroslav Koceľa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
